We work hard to make sure our dogs and puppies are adoption-ready. Our fosters work on leash training, kennel training, potty training, basic commands, and house manners. Please keep in mind however that a lot of the dogs we take in have never lived in a home prior, or have spent significant amounts of time in a shelter environment.

All pets we adopt out are up-to-date on core vaccines, flea/tick prevention, and deworming. Every pet is spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption.

We have the best dogs. Period.

What do the adoption fees cover?

Our adoption fees cover the cost of spay/neuter, microchipping, vaccines, flea/tick prevention and dewormer for the pet you’re adopting, as well as other routine care.

There are many other costs we cover for the animal you’re adopting: pet food, puppy supplies, transportation to and from the Southwest, emergency vet care, enrichment, etc. We spend between $200-$2000 on each pet we adopt out, and any adoption fee funds that don’t go directly to the pet you’re adopting go to medical bills and care for other pets at the rescue.

Become a foster!

Fostering saves lives.

By opening your home to a temporary pet, it gives us more opportunities to pull animals from overcrowded shelters. It gives the pet individual attention, training, and experience living in a home, and makes them better adoption candidates.

We test every pet prior to sending them to foster homes, to make sure they will be behaved around other dogs, children, cats, or small pets if necessary.

Not sure if you’re ready to adopt? Fostering also gives you a sneak peek at what it’s like to add another family member. Plus, fostering puppies/kittens gives endless serotonin!

We hope our fosters will be able to commit to their foster pet from the time they take them until the time they are adopted. However, we completely understand that everyone has commitments - if you have an upcoming trip or plans during which time you would need to pass your foster on to someone else, just let us know!
